Haven Hall

Hello All! Well, this week I had dinner on the Diag and walked around for awhile on the Diag. The feeling that I have graduated is starting to slowly sink in with the new orientation groups of freshmen wandering around the Diag and Central Campus. One of the places that we strolled into the other night was Haven Hall. The Diag is surrounded by about five major buildings: the Hatcher Graduate Library (see last week's post), West Hall (The Old Engineering Building and Arch), the Chemistry Building, The Natural Science Building, and Angell Hall. Angell Hall, as it is commonly referred to, is actually composed of four different "halls" that are all connected and where many of the LS&A courses are held. They are Mason Hall, Tisch Hall, Haven Hall, and Angell Hall. Most students simply refer to all four halls though as Angell Hall and this is where the "Fishbowl" is located. The Fishbowl refers to the largest computing site on Central campus. You have to go down the stairs to get to it, but it is visible on all four sides by windows located above it, thus giving it the appearance of looking into a fishbowl, as you can see (sorry the windows obviously hadn't been cleaned in awhile). One of today's photos is Haven Hall, which borders the Diag. With large windows and wooden benches to sit on many students can be found sitting along here between classes or eating a quick lunch. I, myself, spent quite a lot of time here chatting with friends, eating lunch, doing some studying, or simply people-watching. Good times all around!
